Liverpool 0-3 Man City LIVE: Gravenberch sent off as Haaland, Doku and Cherki punish 10-man Reds

Liverpool welcome Manchester City to Anfield for a huge Premier League showdown on Sunday afternoon, with Andoni Iraola’s side facing one of their toughest tests of the season against a City team that have won all five of their league matches so far.

Kick-off is at 4.30pm BST, with both sides arriving with plenty at stake. City are looking to maintain their perfect start and strengthen their position at the top of the table, while Liverpool will be eager to make a statement against their title rivals in front of the Anfield crowd.

Iraola has attacking problems to solve, with Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo unavailable through injury. Hugo Ekitike is also sidelined, leaving Liverpool short of established options in the final third and placing greater responsibility on the players available to provide a cutting edge.

The challenge is not simply to contain City. Liverpool must find a way to disrupt their opponents’ rhythm, win the ball in dangerous areas and turn those opportunities into meaningful attacks. Iraola’s more intense, vertical approach has offered encouragement, but Liverpool’s recent struggles to find consistent attacking fluency make this a particularly revealing test.

City, meanwhile, arrive with confidence and a formidable attacking threat. Liverpool will need discipline without the ball, composure under pressure and greater precision when opportunities arise.
