LASK 3-6 Liverpool LIVE: Barcola hat-trick as Koumas scores first Champions League goal in goal frenzy
By Joe Symes · 1 min read · 17 October 2026
Liverpool have an opportunity to respond quickly to their weekend setback as they travel to face LASK in the Champions League.
Andoni Iraola’s side began their European campaign with a 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid at Anfield, but their preparations for this second league-phase fixture have been complicated by injuries to Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The absences place greater responsibility on Liverpool’s available attacking options, including Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola, both of whom have been backed by their head coach despite scrutiny of their early-season contributions.
There is also a wider question to answer. After being beaten 3-0 by Manchester City, Liverpool need to demonstrate that they can recover their intensity and control without allowing one disappointing afternoon to define their progress under Iraola.
LASK, meanwhile, will look to exploit home advantage and claim their first points of the league phase.
Kick-off at the Raiffeisen Arena is at 5.45pm BST. Stay with us for team news, build-up, minute-by-minute updates, tactical analysis and the reaction from Linz.
